abstract | Provided is an electrophotographic photosensitive member that is less susceptible to physical deterioration of a photosensitive layer and that is excellent in coating performance and electrical characteristics even when charged using a contact charging device. An electrophotographic photosensitive member charged by a contact charging member in contact with the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member, wherein the outermost surface layer of the photosensitive member has a repeating unit represented by formula (1) as an outermost surface. An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising 30% by mass or more based on the entire binder resin contained in the layer.
