PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a portable terminal device capable of adjusting a biological rhythm by acquiring biological information and controlling a display image according to the biological information in a display device that displays an image. A video signal to be displayed on a display unit 106 is sent from an antenna line or an external connection device to a video signal output unit 105, and the video signal is output to a video signal conversion unit 104. The arousal level estimation means 103 detects blinks from temporal changes in the user's face image captured by the CCD camera 102, and estimates the arousal level based on this.
