abstract |
A thermoplastic polymer bonded asphalt composition and a method of making a thermoplastic polymer bonded asphalt are disclosed. More particularly, the present invention relates to the reaction of asphalt with a combination of epoxide-containing and anhydride-containing polymers to form a polymer-bound asphalt composition having a higher softening point, and the resulting bond. The improved polymer-bound asphalt product of the present invention is particularly useful in roof applications. |
