abstract |
The present invention provides a method for increasing production of aromatic carboxylic acids from host cells through manipulation of the yhcRQP operon encoding a family of efflux proteins. Furthermore, upregulation of all or a subset of genes in yhcRQP was found to increase resistance to aromatic carboxylic acid toxicity. |
