titleOfInvention | Antibacterial resin vulcanized rubber article and unvulcanized composition |
abstract | The present invention relates to certain non-silicone resin vulcanizates made from at least a major weight of non-silicone vulcanized rubber, including a silver-based compound to provide highly desirable long-lasting antimicrobial properties to vulcanized rubber articles. It relates to rubber articles. Such articles are solid or foamed (foam or sponge), or a combination of both in multi-layered form and can be utilized for a variety of different applications. The present invention provides a non-sulfur based vulcanizing system, such as a resin vulcanizing agent, that allows vulcanization and does not bind irreversibly with silver ions, thereby resulting in long lasting antimicrobial properties of the final rubber article itself. Includes the presence of vulcanizing agents. The present invention also includes certain non-silicone unvulcanized products made from at least a major weight of non-silicone rubber, including a silver-based compound to give the final resin vulcanized rubber article a highly desirable long lasting antimicrobial property. Includes sulfur rubber compositions. |
