titleOfInvention Feedback and coupling structures and methods
abstract The light emitting device can include a light emitting layer such as an organic semiconductor material, one or more feedback structures, and a coupling structure. One or more feedback structures feed back light emitted by the emissive layer, along an in-plane axis of the device, thereby facilitating stimulated emission of light in the emissive layer It is possible. The coupling structure couples some portion of the feedback light out of the device. The combined light can be emitted along an axis substantially perpendicular to the plane of the device or at a predetermined angle. The coupling structure and the feedback structure can have a wave structure, a continuous change in refractive index along an axis in the device plane, a periodic refractive index, or any combination thereof. The coupling structure and the feedback structure can be independent of each other, share common parts, or be combined with each other.
