titleOfInvention | Aromatic phosphonium salts and their use as labeling reagents in mass spectrometry analysis |
abstract | The present invention is for assaying, detecting, quantifying, locating, or analyzing each of a plurality of substances of interest ("analyte") in a sample in which each substance is labeled with a cationic triarylphosphonium group. It relates to methods and reagents. The present invention further provides MALDI mass spectrometry techniques in which analysis of samples containing low molecular weight analytes is not disturbed by matrix components. The present invention also provides a labeling reagent for use in labeling analytes prior to MS analysis. Here, the labeled analyte has a molecular weight greater than the useful detection threshold of the MALDI technique. In some aspects, the present invention provides a method of quantitative MS analysis of sample components. The methods of the present invention include sensitive techniques for molecular separation / ionization in picomolar, fetomole, and attomole quantities. Another advantage of the present invention is that the measurement of m / Z values is not complicated by small molecule interference and the matrix is provided normally, thus the present invention provides low molecular samples, and low molecular samples. And a method for MALDI MS analysis of a mixture of polymer samples. |
