A method and wearable system for enhancing human balance and gait and preventing foot injury by neurological stimulation of the foot and ankle. An electrode or vibration actuator placed on or on a wearable platform, such as an insole, underwear, removable shoe insert, on the skin surface of an individual for neurosensory improvement, or Either through these combinations or without platform support. Threshold hyperstimulation for therapeutic purposes such as improved blood circulation is also provided by the vibration actuator. Actuators and electrodes are driven by signals generated by a bias signal generator connected to the controller. The signal generator under the control of the controller is adapted to generate a non-deterministic random signal, a repetitive signal pattern or a series of signal patterns. The controller optionally includes a communication port for interfacing with an external computer for controller optimization and programming purposes. The wearable system is powered by a power source. |
