titleOfInvention Enhanced automatic gain control mechanism for time slot data transmission
abstract In accordance with the present invention, an automatic gain control (AGC) method uses an initial gain from a digital AGC circuit (13) determined using a gain finally calculated from the same time slot of the previous frame along with an offset factor. Apply to a certain time slot. If the number of saturated data samples detected in block (17) exceeds a threshold, the erasure function (14) is activated for a given data sample block. The power measurements obtained by the AGC circuit and used to update the gain are adjusted based on the number of saturated measured data samples. These elements provide a gain limiting function and allow dynamic range limiting for further signal processing.
