abstract | The present invention relates to a novel method termed the COBASORB test, which can be used for testing due to cobalamin malabsorption in humans. The COBASORB test includes three separate tests (first, second and third tests) that can be performed separately, sequentially or in random order and number. The first study uses non-radioactive cobalamin for ingestion, the second study uses non-radioactive cobalamin and recombinant endogenous factor for ingestion, and the third study is saturated with cobalamin for ingestion Use recombinant haptocholine. All three tests include analysis of changes in the concentration of cobalamin saturated transcobalamin (Holo-TC) and cobalamin saturated haptocholine (Holo-HC) in the blood. Also disclosed are kits suitable for use in these methods. |
