abstract The present invention relates to an information carrier for scanning information with a light beam having a certain wavelength. The information carrier has a central hole (11) and at least two information stacks (13, 14) wound around the central hole. Each information stack has a first electrode, a second electrode, and a material whose optical properties at the wavelength of the light beam depend on the potential difference applied between the first and second electrodes.
