abstract A dermatological treatment device that is luminescent and safe for the eyes is provided. A dermatological treatment device is disclosed comprising a housing having at least one housing for operation of a dermatological treatment, a light source, and an electrical circuit. This circuit energizes the light source to generate output light pulses. The optical path comprises an opening through which an eye-safe light pulse is transmitted having sufficient characteristics to provide an effective treatment. By placing the light diffuser along the optical path, the integrated radiance is reduced to an eye-safe level. This device generates at least the output fluence of 4J / cm 2.
