A novel tyrosine-inducible tyrosine ammonia lyase enzyme was isolated from Trichosporon cutaneum yeast. This enzyme is more active against tyrosine than phenylalanine and helps to produce para-hydroxycinnamic acid directly from tyrosine. The gene encoding this enzyme was sequenced by 3 'and 5' RACE cloning of TAL cDNA, and the gene was expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast and Escherichia coli bacteria. |
