Apparatus and method for cancer immunotherapy by controlled cell lysis |
abstract |
The treatment device includes a collection mechanism configured to collect a tissue sample from a patient or tumor coupled to a dissolution mechanism. The lysis mechanism is configured to induce lysis of the tissue sample into the lysed tissue sample. The treatment device also includes an administration mechanism coupled to both the collection mechanism and the dissolution mechanism. The treatment device further includes an additional mechanism configured to add additional solution to the lysed tissue sample prior to administering the lysed tissue sample to the patient. Furthermore, the present invention also provides a method for treating cancer. The method includes collecting a tissue sample from a patient or tumor into a chamber of a treatment device. The tissue sample is lysed into a lysed tissue sample, placed in the chamber of the treatment device, and the lysed tissue sample is administered directly from the treatment device to the patient. |
