A stable and uniform distribution of gel beads or other particulate material dispersed in a liquid medium includes a density reducing agent within the gel beads, resulting in particles having a desired bulk density, for example, a density close to that of the liquid dispersion medium. Can be obtained by providing. With suitable density control, it can be prevented from moving and settling due to gravity during storage. Gel beads formulated with agar are suitable for use in cosmetics and included in cosmetic formulation processes where moderately high temperatures may be used. An attractive and novel cosmetic bead suspension is described. In addition to cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, and other uses are disclosed. Examples of suitable density reducing agents include very low density hollow polymer microspheres and temperature sensitive expandable thermoplastic microspheres. |
