The present invention provides an article of manufacture comprising a substantially non-immunogenic xenograft for transplantation into a human. The present invention also provides a xenograft by removing at least a part of soft tissue from an animal other than a human, washing the xenograft in physiological saline and alcohol, and subjecting the xenograft to cell destruction treatment. Also provided is a method for producing a xenograft by treating the xenograft with a cross-linking agent and digesting the xenograft with a proteoglycan removal factor and / or glycosidase.
