abstract The present invention relates to a process for recovering chlorine from a feed stream containing metal chloride using a tubular reactor. In the method, the resulting velocity of the bulk gas formed by mixing the oxygen-containing gas with the metal chloride and scrub feed streams removes the deposit as soon as the wall deposit is formed. The high temperature oxygen-containing gas has an initial velocity so that it is sufficient.
