PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a phenolic carboxylic acid derivative by enzyme-catalyzed reaction. The present invention relates to an improved process for preparing phenolic carboxylic acid derivatives catalyzed by biocatalytic esterification, transesterification or amino acidification of the corresponding lower alkyl ester. The biocatalytic reaction is carried out in the presence of a suitable enzyme such as a hydrolase, especially esterase, amidase, lipase and protease. |
