titleOfInvention | Liquid crystal display element |
abstract | A liquid crystal display element capable of controlling the direction of spontaneous polarization of a ferroelectric liquid crystal is provided. The present invention provides a first alignment treatment substrate having a first base material and a first alignment film formed on the first electrode layer, a second base material, and the second electrode layer. A second alignment processing substrate having a second alignment film formed thereon and a reactive liquid crystal layer formed on the second alignment film and having a reactive liquid crystal fixed thereon is disposed, and the first alignment film is disposed. A ferroelectric liquid crystal sandwiched between the liquid crystal layer and the reactive liquid crystal layer, and the ferroelectric liquid crystal exhibits monostability, and when the second electrode layer voltage is applied, the ferroelectric liquid crystal The molecular direction of the liquid crystal changes approximately twice the tilt angle of the ferroelectric liquid crystal in parallel with the substrate surface.
