abstract The present invention provides a method capable of quickly evaluating the toxicity of a sample containing a plurality of substances, which is difficult by a chemical analysis method. An object of the present invention is to provide a test substance from a sample such as an extract from soil or a metal in a quantity that each sample contains two or more kinds of detection objects and each of the detection objects is contained in the sample. In a system that is not toxic to the predetermined amount of luminescent bacteria such as Vibrio fischeri, the luminescence intensity is measured by contacting with a predetermined amount of luminescent bacteria.
