A corrosion-resistant anti-icing coating for use on a variety of parts is provided. Liquid and / or solid anti-icing fillers and / or oils are combined with a corrosion-resistant silicone and / or fluorocarbon elastomeric material to produce a corrosion-resistant anti-icing coating. These coatings can be used to prevent ice from accumulating on various gas turbine engine parts, aircraft parts, ships (ie, boats and ships), power lines, communication lines, and the like. Each coated pin 10 is placed in the test apparatus 20 and then a layer of ice 30 is grown on each coated pin within the annular gap between the coated pin 10 and the mold 40 before each coated pin 10. The ice adhesion strength above was quantitatively determined by a pin shear test. The test involved applying a load to the pin in the direction of arrow A while constraining the mold at its base 42, thereby shearing the ice 30 and determining the load at which the ice peels from each coated pin 10.
