A method of manufacturing a lens substrate according to the present invention is provided for forming a light shielding layer by using a colored light shielding layer forming material on a surface side opposite to a side where the convex lens is provided of a substrate body having a number of convex lenses. Forming a layer, and irradiating energy rays from the surface side of the substrate body on which the convex lens is provided, and using the energy rays collected by the convex lens, a part of the colored light-shielding layer forming layer is decolorized and non-colored.
