abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image having good sharpness at high speed, preventing character thickening and streak unevenness that are likely to occur in an electrostatic latent image formed by exposure means of a surface emitting laser array. Therefore, an image forming apparatus, an image forming method, a process cartridge, and an organic photoreceptor for that purpose are provided. An exposure unit includes a surface-emitting laser array having three or more laser beam emission points in the vertical and horizontal directions as an exposure light source, and scans the laser beam on an organic photoreceptor to form an electrostatic latent image. An image forming apparatus having a configuration employing a beam system, wherein the binder of the surface layer located farthest from the conductive support of the organic photoreceptor contains polycarbonate having a polysiloxane unit.
