abstract | The present invention provides an optical waveguide and an optical waveguide structure that have excellent heat resistance, low water absorption, and low material cost. An optical waveguide structure is provided in contact with both surfaces of a core layer including a core portion, a cladding portion having a refractive index lower than that of the core portion, and has a refractive index lower than that of the core portion. It has an optical waveguide having a cladding layer and a conductor layer provided on both surfaces of the optical waveguide, and the cladding layer is composed of a norbornene-based polymer as a main material. Moreover, it is preferable that norbornene-type polymer is mainly what is represented by a formula.
