titleOfInvention Antibacterial natural fiber and method for producing the same
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial natural fiber capable of maintaining antibacterial properties and capable of retaining the antibacterial properties even after washing and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Antibacterial natural fibers are composed of a hydroxyl group or an amino group of a natural fiber bonded with a carboxyl group of an antibacterial compound such as sialic acid or β-tyaprisin, a carbonyl group conjugated with a hydroxyl group, or the like. . As the antibacterial compound such as sialic acid and β-tyaprisin, those obtained by steam distillation using 1.2 to 2.0 MPa high-pressure steam from Western Red Cedar are preferable. As natural fibers, cellulosic fibers having many hydroxyl groups are preferred. Antibacterial natural fibers are made by heating an antibacterial compound to the natural fiber in the presence of an acid catalyst, and reacting the hydroxyl group or amino group of the natural fiber with a carboxyl group of the antibacterial compound, a carbonyl group conjugated with the hydroxyl group, or the like. It is manufactured by reacting and bonding. [Selection figure] None
