PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor having a broad peak of an emission spectrum in a range from green to red and excellent in luminous efficiency and luminance. SOLUTION: A phosphor represented by a general formula MmAaBbOoNn: Z (M element is one or more elements having a valence of II, and A element is one or more of a valence of III. B element is one or more elements having a valence of IV, O is oxygen, N is nitrogen, and Z element is one or more activators). 2.5 <(a + b) / m <4.5, 0 <a / m <2.0, 2.0 <b / m <4.0, 0 <o / m <1.0, o <n, n = 2 / 3m + a + 4 / A phosphor of 3b-2 / 3o was invented to solve the above problems.
