abstract | An electrophotographic photosensitive member in which a photosensitive layer having a single layer structure or a laminated structure is provided on a conductive support. The electrophotographic photosensitive member has high durability against the occurrence of wear and scratches and is excellent in image deterioration. Provided are an electrophotographic photosensitive member that has excellent characteristics and can stably obtain a high-quality image even after repeated use for a long period of time, and an image forming method, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge using the same. A charge generating layer including a charge generating material, a lower charge transporting layer including a charge transporting material, a hybrid polymer and a metal having a predetermined structural unit and a metal alkoxide group are provided on a conductive support. An image forming apparatus and a process cartridge are configured by using a photoconductor provided with a multi-layered photosensitive layer 53 including an upper charge transport layer 53b containing an organic-inorganic hybrid material in which alkoxide is integrated by polycondensation.
