abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal ion neutralized N-substituted maleimide / maleic acid / olefin copolymer excellent in transparency, rigidity and surface hardness which can be suitably used as an optical film. An N-substituted maleimide residue comprising 39.9 to 60 mol% of N-substituted maleimide residue units, 60 to 39.9 mol% of olefin residue units and 10 to 0.1 mol% of maleic acid residue units. A maleic acid / olefin copolymer, wherein 30 to 90 mol% of carboxyl groups derived from maleic acid residue units in the N-substituted maleimide / maleic acid / olefin copolymer are neutralized by metal ions.
