The present invention relates to filler aggregation, molecular weight reduction, and the like caused by a surface modifier such as a coupling agent that could not be chemically bonded to a nanofiller, or a condensate formed by bonding the surface modifiers together. A polymer nanocomposite containing a surface-modified nanofiller that eliminates the adverse effects of functional deterioration such as coloring is obtained. The nanofiller is dispersed in a solvent, and a predetermined modifier is added for surface modification, and then the solvent containing the nanofiller is directly washed, and the modifier is added to the solvent. A polymer nanocomposite is produced by blending and dispersing a surface-modified nanofiller obtained by removing a free modifier present as a remaining component in a predetermined organic polymer.
