abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for electrostatic ink jet and an ink jet recording method capable of fixing a high quality image at low temperature and high speed on a recording medium. An electrostatic ink-jet ink composition comprising a dispersion medium, charged particles containing at least a coloring material, and a charge control agent, wherein the charge control agent comprises: A thermoplastic resinous core insoluble or substantially insoluble in the dispersion medium; B. A copolymer steric stabilizer that is chemically fixed to the core, is soluble in the dispersion medium, and has a coordinating compound moiety by a covalent bond; An electrostatic ink jet ink composition comprising copolymer particles containing at least one metal soap compound derived from a metal that forms a coordination bond with a portion of the coordination compound. In the ink jet recording method, the ink composition is ejected as ink droplets by an ink jet recording method using an electrostatic field. [Selection figure] None |
