abstract | SOLUTION: A norbornene resin obtained by ring-opening metathesis polymerization of monomers containing a single or two or more kinds of norbornene monomers and having a polymer terminal modified with a cage oligosiloxane group. [Effect] The norbornene-based resin in which the polymer terminal of the present invention is modified with a cage oligosiloxane group and its hydrogenated product are transparent, heat resistant, low hygroscopic, low water absorbing, chemical resistant, moisture resistant, water resistant. The properties such as releasability, dispersibility, and flame retardancy are improved without impairing the properties of norbornene-based resins such as properties and low birefringence, and productivity during precision processing can be improved.
