| abstract | An electric transport system capable of reliably connecting an electric connection with a correct polarity between a drug-containing unit and a controller. An electrotransport system includes a reusable controller having a power source and a drug-containing unit that has a donor electrode and a counter electrode and is separable. The connecting means 36 and 38 on the medicine unit side and the connecting means on the controller side corresponding to these connect the controller 12 and the medicine unit 30 physically and electrically. Thereby, the controller 12 supplies current to the drug unit 30 and supplies the drug to the surface of the patient's body (eg, skin) by electrotransport. The drug unit side coupling means 36, 38 and the corresponding controller side coupling means ensure the correct polarity connection of the donor and counter electrodes to the controller 12 output.
