titleOfInvention Microscope observation device with automatic specimen tracking function
abstract A microscope observation apparatus having an automatic tracking function of a specimen sample without requiring a video camera or a memory for tracking the sample is provided. A microscope observation apparatus 100 includes a laser scanning confocal microscope 110 and four systems of optical scanning systems 130 for supplying excitation light beams thereto. The optical scanning system 130 includes a driving device 141 that drives the XY scanning mechanism 135 and a position calculation device 142 that obtains the position of the convergence point of the excitation light beam. The microscope observation apparatus 100 includes a signal processing device 151 that converts an electrical signal output from the photodetector 138 of the optical scanning system 130 into a binarized pulse, and an autocorrelation from the binarized pulse output from the signal processing device 151. A correlation analysis device 152 for obtaining a function and a computer 126 for controlling a sample stage controller 125 for moving the sample stage 122 based on the obtained autocorrelation function are provided.
