abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser marking method and apparatus for a processed thread, which can easily position a processed thread with high accuracy and can form a fine marking pattern clearly and continuously in a minute region. A thread 9 to be processed is stretched between a supply reel 2 and a take-up reel 3 in a tensioned state, and a laser beam irradiation region having a width smaller than the diameter of the thread 9 to be processed and a length of a marking pattern is provided. A fine marking pattern is clearly formed by positioning with the yarn guide plate 4 and scanning with the laser beam irradiation device 5 while irradiating the laser beam with pulses.
