abstract | The present invention provides a rolling bearing device for a railway vehicle that is unlikely to cause entry of water, dust, and the like and that has a small rotational torque. A rolling bearing device for a railway vehicle includes an inner ring, an outer ring, a plurality of rollers arranged between the inner ring and the outer ring, and axially opposite ends of the inner ring. And an oil seal 130 attached to both ends of the outer ring 111 in the axial direction and in sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the oil remover 121. The oil seal 130 includes a seal member 132 formed of a resin such as rubber, and a portion of the inner lip 133 and the outer lip 134 of the seal member 132 that is in sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the oil drain 121 has hard carbon.
