Disclosed is a novel surfactant, a novel emulsifier for obtaining a dispersion of a water-insoluble resin excellent in dispersion stability, and a dispersion of a water-insoluble resin obtained by emulsion polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence thereof. It is an object of the present invention to provide a body and an aqueous ink for inkjet recording containing the same. A water-insoluble resin is prepared by preparing a surfactant comprising a compound represented by the following general formula (1) and emulsion-polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of the surfactant as an emulsifier. And a dispersion of the water-insoluble resin and a colorant are contained to obtain an aqueous ink for inkjet recording. [Chemical 1] (In the formula, R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, M represents a hydrogen atom or a cation, and may be the same or different. P is an integer of 2 to 6, and q is an average added mole number. , 1-4, r is an integer of 2-10, s is the average number of moles added, 1-30, and t is an average number of 0.5-2.5.)
