Products and uses of silicone resin powder substantially free of silanol groups |
abstract |
A silicone resin powder substantially free of silanol groups having a primary particle size in the range of about 0.1-200 nm and an aggregate particle size of 10 nm to 200 microns. [Structure] An organic solvent dispersion of hydrolyzed organosiloxane having triorganosiloxy units and tetrasiloxy units is treated with an organosilicon nitrogen compound such as silazane and then spray dried. It has been found that organosilicone resin powders substantially free of silanol groups are useful in the production of thermosetting organopolysiloxane compositions such as pressure sensitive adhesives.
