titleOfInvention | Nucleosides, nucleoside derivatives, oligonucleotides, and oligonucleotide aggregates |
abstract | Non-natural oligonucleotides are associated by a chemical bond different from that by hydrogen bonding, stacking, or hydrophobic interaction. Focusing on halogen bonds as one of the bonds that cause association of non-natural oligonucleotides, non-natural nucleosides containing halogen bond donors or halogen bond acceptors and derivatives of these nucleosides are synthesized. Then, an oligonucleotide having a nucleoside residue that functions as a halogen bond donor or a halogen bond acceptor is synthesized from this nucleoside derivative and a commercially available phosphoramidite unit for DNA synthesis. An oligonucleotide having a nucleoside residue that functions as a halogen bond donor or a halogen bond acceptor associates between the halogen bond donor and the halogen bond acceptor via a halogen bond to form an aggregate.
