titleOfInvention New iodine production method
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing iodine from an aqueous solution containing iodide ions using manganese oxide and manganese oxidizing bacteria while reusing manganese resources. (A) a step of oxidizing iodide ion in an aqueous solution with manganese oxide to iodinate; (b) a step of converting manganese ions generated from the manganese oxide in step (a) and manganese ions contained in the raw material aqueous solution containing iodide ions into manganese oxide, and (c) recovering the iodine obtained in step (a), A process for producing iodine from an aqueous solution containing an iodide ion-containing material, wherein steps (a) to (c) are carried out under conditions of pH 4 to pH 9.
