abstract To minimize the memory capacity required to perform camera shake correction on a frame image for which a motion vector is obtained. An image processing apparatus acquires a fixed amount of an image from a moving image or a time-series continuous still image, and generates a corrected image by cutting out a predetermined image from the acquired fixed amount of image. The motion vector detection unit 120 detects the motion vector of a certain amount of images of n (n is an integer equal to or greater than 1) by the image acquisition unit 110 for each fixed amount of images in time series. Then, the predicted motion vector of the (n + 1) th fixed amount image is calculated by the next image motion vector prediction unit, and the predicted motion vector of the calculated (n + 1) th fixed amount image is calculated by the correction position calculation unit. The correction position vector indicating the position to cut out the predetermined image is calculated for the (n + 1) -th fixed amount image.
