abstract | In the conventional configuration, the ink in the recording head is replaced with a cleaning liquid so that the ejection port of the recording head is not solidified with ink when not driven, but the ink density is mixed by mixing with the ink. However, a stable image cannot be recorded, and it takes a long time to use a large amount of cleaning liquid for replacement. The present invention provides an ink tank 23 filled with ink 19, an ink supply pipe 22 for supplying the ink 19 to the recording head 18 provided in the recording section 5, and a cleaning liquid 20 having a specific gravity different from that of the ink 19. A cleaning liquid tank 25 to be filled, a cleaning liquid supply pipe 24 for supplying the cleaning liquid 20 to the recording head 5, and an ink chamber 21 provided in the recording head 18 in which the ink 19 and the cleaning liquid 20 are mixed are provided.
