abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording material support which is excellent in image clarity and applicable to various image recording materials. In particular, an object of the present invention is to provide a support for an image recording material which is excellent in image clarity and has an ink absorptivity and is suitable as a support for an ink jet recording medium. Another object is to provide an image recording material having excellent image clarity. In particular, the present invention provides an image recording material which is excellent in image clarity and has good bleeding resistance and water resistance and is suitable as an ink jet recording medium. An image recording material support in which an undercoat layer is provided on at least a surface of a substrate on which an image forming layer is provided, the optical comb conforming to JIS H8686-2 in the image recording material support. An image-recording material support characterized by having an image definition measured at a width of 2.0 mm of 30% or more, and an image-recording material using the image-recording material support.
