PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power backup device capable of improving the charging characteristics of a secondary battery without being influenced by the ambient temperature environment. When a booster / buck unit 32 charges a lithium ion secondary battery 22 using power from a power supply circuit 1, heat from a power MOSFET 67 provided in the booster / buck unit 32 is generated. Then, it is transmitted to the lithium ion secondary battery 22 via the heat conductor 81. Therefore, even when the power MOSFET 67 and the lithium ion secondary battery 22 are separated from each other, the lithium ion secondary battery 22 is warmed during charging, and the discharge time can be extended. In addition, the heat from the power MOSFET 67 that constitutes the step-up / step-down unit 32 that is originally unnecessary can be effectively utilized to extend the charging time of the lithium ion secondary battery 22.
