PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of inhibiting platelet and leukocyte-mediated damage and inflammation in endothelial cells. A DNA encoding ATP diphosphohydrolase or an oxidation-resistant analog thereof is inserted into endothelial cells, and a protein having functional ATP diphosphohydrolase activity under cell activation conditions, such as human CD39 protein, is obtained. A method comprising expressing from a cell. It can be utilized in corresponding cells, tissues, or organs, non-human transgenic mammals or somatic recombinant mammals, pharmaceutical compositions and artificial intravenous organ devices.
