abstract | The present invention provides a method capable of producing an electrophotographic toner having a small particle size having a sharp particle size distribution, and an electrophotographic toner obtained by the production method. A method for producing an electrophotographic toner comprising a step of aggregating primary particles containing a binder resin in an aqueous medium (aggregation step) and a step of coalescing the obtained aggregated particles (unification step). Further, a method for producing an electrophotographic toner having a step (dispersion step) of dispersing the primary particles in the presence of an acrylic acid polymer salt having a volume average molecular weight of 1,000 to 90,000, and the production method.
