abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a bisphenol monoester (I) in which the water-separation property in washing at the time of producing the bisphenol monoester (I) is always good. In a reaction vessel in which a gas phase portion is filled with oxygen and an inert gas, the formula (II) (In the formula, R 1 represents an alkenyl group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, etc.) A carboxylic acid represented by the formula (III) (Wherein, R 2 is .R 3 to R 6 represents a hydrogen atom, and alkyl group of 1 to 11 carbon atoms, each independently, represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.) After mixing the bisphenols represented by formula (II) and the dehydrohalogenating agent, further mixing the halogenating agent, washing with water, (Wherein R 1 to R 6 represent the same meaning as described above.) A method for producing a bisphenol monoester represented by the formula, wherein the oxygen concentration in the gas phase is adjusted to 0.1 to 10% by volume. [Selection figure] None
