PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful polymorphic marker for a method capable of quickly and simply distinguishing rice varieties, an efficient rice cultivar distinguishing method using the marker, and a method for breeding rice having useful traits Is an issue. SOLUTION: By comprehensively searching the entire rice genome for 9 varieties with many closely related varieties, a large number of new SNPs sites including SNPs that enable discrimination between varieties that could not be identified so far are found. Succeeded. In addition, we succeeded in finding many SNPs sites among distantly related varieties that are useful for conventional DNA marker breeding and "genomic breeding" that greatly improves the efficiency.
