abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently separating Ru from a solution containing a platinum group by oxidative distillation. SOLUTION: A solution containing at least one platinum group among Ru and Pt, Pd, Rh, Ir is adjusted to pH = 0.5 to 2.5, and Ru is converted to ruthenium tetroxide using sodium bromate as an oxidizing agent.
