abstract | Disclosed is a cis-2,3-disubstituted cyclopentanone that is particularly useful in the synthesis of jasmonic acid ester, which occupies an important position as a jasmine fragrance, and discharges harmful waste in a short process using a general-purpose device. Providing industrially manufactured technology. [Solution] A method for producing a cis-2,3-disubstituted cyclopentanone comprising the following five steps. 1st process which rearranges the compound of Formula (1) and manufactures the compound of Formula (2). Second step of producing a compound of formula (3) by isomerizing a compound of formula (2). Third step of producing a compound of formula (4) by alkylating the compound of formula (3). Fourth step of producing a compound of formula (5) by adding a malonic ester to a compound of formula (4) and decarboxylating. A fifth step of producing a cis-2,3-disubstituted cyclopentanone of formula (6) by hydrogenating the compound of formula (5).
