A planar light-emitting body having surface-emitting characteristics with low power consumption and excellent uniformity is manufactured. A planar light-emitting body including a plurality of light-emitting diode elements as a light source, and all contact surfaces of members such as a light-emitting diode element, a light guide plate, a reflecting plate, and a light scattering plate constituting the planar light-emitting body. However, the present invention relates to a planar light-emitting body that is joined and integrated in a state in which no air layer is interposed, a manufacturing method thereof, and a liquid crystal backlight using the planar light-emitting body.
